A $60,000,000 state of the art facility, designed to increase access to medical services and provide medical specialties throughout the region.

Sanford Health today released detailed plans and the long awaited architect rendering of the New Sanford Thief River Falls Medical Center and Clinic, with ground breaking scheduled next spring.

Sanford Thief River Falls Chief Executive Officer, Chris Harff says Sanford has also announced plans for the current clinic facility on Highway 59 – which will be remodeled for “Behavioral Health In and Out Patient Care” – with other specialties, including Dialysis and the Wellness Center also at that location.

Harff says the current hospital in down town Thief River Falls– built in 1932 – will be offered for sale, but if no buyer comes forward, Sanford says they will convert the area into a “Green Space,” along the banks of the Red Lake River, south of the First Street Bridge.

The new medical center is expected to be complete by the fall of 2014.
