School Immunizations Required as First Day Approaches 09 Aug 11

With the start of the school year just around the corner – September 6th in Thief River Falls – the Minnesota Health Department is reminding parents to make sure that their children are in compliance with the state’s childhood immunization law.

Kindergarteners are required to receive vaccinations against a variety of childhood diseases and seventh-graders need to receive a series of booster shots. Spokeswoman Lynn Bahta says they want to make sure everyone is in compliance so no one is turned away the first day of classes.

Meanwhile, back to school nights are being announced all across the listening area, including Thief River Falls, where Challenger Elementary School, Franklin Middle School and Lincoln High School have scheduled open houses later this month, on August 31st.
