(Minneapolis, MN) — The Twins scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning en route to a 5-2 win over the Red Sox. Jim Thome plated a pair to help the Twins salvage the finale of the three-game series. Glen Perkins was credited with his fourth win. Joe Nathan nailed down his ninth save.

(Cleveland, OH) — The Twins are off today. They’ll hit the road to begin a three-game series with the Indians in Cleveland tomorrow. Carl Pavano will get the start on the mound in the series-opener. The Indians will counter with Josh Tomlin.

(New York, NY) — Major League Baseball announced its schedule for the 2011 postseason and for the first time in three years the World Series will end before November. This year’s postseason will start Friday, September 30th with a pair of American League Division Series games. The two National League Division Series matchups will begin on Saturday, October 1st.

(Eden Prairie, MN) — The Vikings are just two days away from opening preseason play. Minnesota will open the exhibition slate against the Titans in Tennessee on Saturday night. Kick-off in Nashville will be at 7pm.
