The regular season wrapped up for BGMR & KCC on Tuesday night with a big game in Middle River. And at the end of 3 quarters, it was all KCC 28-7. The Bearcats would score once more with 9:29 left in the 4th on a 33 yd TD run by Kyle Petersburg and the Bearcats would lead 35-7. It looked over as the Bearcats couldn’t be stopped, and the Gators couldn’t get going. But on the ensuing kickoff after Petersburg score, Alex Rehn returns the kick 85 yards for a score and the Gators picked up some momentum. After holding KCC, BGMR blocked the punt and had great field position at the Bearcats 30 yard line. Gators would go into score on a yard TD run by backup quarterback Jaquan Rehn and with 5:52 left, the Gators trailed 35-21. After holding KCC again and getting the ball back, the Gators drove for another TD drive capped by a 10 yard pass from Rehn to Tanner Creviston and the Gators all of a sudden trail by just 6. But with only :19 left, Gators have to try an onside kick to get the ball back, it doesn’t go the 10 yards and KCC gets the ball back and the game is over. KCC wins 35-29. The Bearcats Zach Rynning completed 14 of 22 passes for 242 yards; Alex Rehn carried the ball 19 times for 100 yards for the Gators. KCC will move to 6-2 with the win and be the #1 seed in Section 8 9-man and get a bye in the first round of the playoffs.
