Representative Dean Urdahl of Grove City is calling it his “Crusade” …

Urdahl is heading a movement to find adequate funding to repair the beautiful State Capitol Building in St. Paul. Urdahl says the Capitol – which dates back to 1905 – has seen only piece meal renovation and is now in “critical condition.”

Urdahl says a new report lists various repair options ranging from 40- million to 241-million dollars and he says he’d like to see at least 70- to 75-million included in this year’s bonding bill for the Capitol Building.

The Republican lawmaker says he’s disappointed Governor Dayton did not put anything for Capitol repairs in his proposed bonding bill, and he doesn’t think a stand-alone Capitol repair bill will succeed.
