MCC Instructor Accused in Pornography Investigation 07 Feb 12

Yesterday he was taken into custody and escorted by Sheriff’s Deputies from the building – today he was charged with 3 felony counts – Possession of Pornography, Dissemination of Pornography and Use of a Minor in Sexual Performance.

Marshal County Central English Arts Instructor, 29 year old Justin Adelmann, made his first appearance on the three felony counts today in District Court in Warren, in the court of District Judge Donald Aandal, who set bail at $130,000 surety / $30,000 cash; with Adelmann’s next court appearance scheduled next Tuesday.

MCC Superintendent, Scott Vedbraaten, in Newfolden confirmed this afternoon that one of their instructors had been placed on Administrative Leave, pending further investigation and that – for reasons of confidentiality and legal constraints – the School District had no other comment to offer.

Other than to confirm the arrest, Marshall County Sheriff John Novacek said little more this afternoon, just that the case remains open and under investigation.

According to the complaint filed with the Marshall County Court Administrator’s Office, the investigation began Monday, when the Sheriff’s Department received a call from a concerned parent who said she had found nude photos of her 16 year old daughter that she believed had been taken by the child’s English Teacher. Deputies spoke with the daughter, the daughter’s boyfriend and the mother and documented 6 nude or partially nude photos emailed to the child from a g-mail account in the name of “jadelmannphotography.” According to the victim, the photos had allegedly been taken last Friday after school in Adelmann’s apartment. The 16 year old told investigators Adelmann may have asked other girls to also be photographed, but was unsure if any other photos were taken. Investigators say a portfolio also included clothed pictures which may have been shared through an on-line account, Model Mayhem at Jadelmann Photography.

According to the Court Adminsitrator’s Office, Adelmann has not yet entered a plea in the case.
