Newfolden Teacher Hires Attorney 15 Feb 12

A continuance has been granted in a hearing for a Marshall County Central Teacher accused of taking pornographic photos of a student.

The hearing for 29 year old Justin Adelmann was continued yesterday as Adelmann declined a public defender, instead securing the services of his own attorney; Andrew Pearson out of Waite Park, Minnesota.

Adelmann has been charged with 3 felonies in the case, accused of allegedly taking pornographic photographs of a 16 year old student at his apartment on Friday, February 3rd, after school. The alleged incident came to light after the student’s boyfriend contacted her mother, the mother contacting law enforcement.

Adelmann was taken into custody following an investigation by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and continues to be held pending bail.

A new hearing date has yet to be scheduled. He has not yet entered a plea in the case. MCC Superintendent, Scott Vedbraaten, in Newfolden, said yesterday that Adelmann continues on Administrative Leave pending the outcome of an investigation.
