Warren Woman Dies in Weather Related Accident 21 Feb 12

A Warren area woman died in a tragic traffic accident on a slippery stretch of Marshall County Road #28 yesterday evening west of Newfolden.

According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, 27 year old Amanda Kittleson died at Sanford Medical Center in Thief River Falls, after she lost control of her Ford Van in icy conditions, colliding head-on with another vehicle – a Chevy Equinox – driven by Catherine Kujava of Argyle.

According to Deputy Cody Gillund; Kujava, and 3 passengers – including 2 children – in the Kittleson vehicle, were also taken by ambulance to Sanford Medical Center. No condition report was immediately available today.

Deputy Gillund says both drivers were wearing seatbelts and all passengers were secured into car seats or seatbelts at the time of the accident, reported just after 6pm Monday evening.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by Newfolden Fire and Rescue along with the Middle River and Karlstad Ambulance Services. Marshall County Dispatch says the accident was initially reported by OnStar – the Advanced Automatic Collision Notification system triggered, most likely, by airbag deployment, including the GPS location of the accident and condition of the vehicle.

would of been nice if they would of given some credit to the young girls who were the first on the scene of the accident. and stayed with them until the ambulance took them to the hospital. those girls were there for 1 1/2 hrs. one of the girls got blankets for the injured, helped with the two small children. Made sure that the woman who passed stayed very still. Wheres the credit?????
