A manhunt continues this morning in the woods of northern Minnesota after a convicted felon escaped custody while being escorted from the Beltrami County Jail in Bemidji.

The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Department says 21-year old Jason King of Redby got away from corrections officers, stole a pickup truck, then led officers on a high-speed chase through the Red Lake Reservation.

The truck crashed and authorities say King took off into a wooded area on foot. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Jason King are asked to contact the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office or Red Lake Police.
