2 people were injured in a three vehicle accident Tuesday morning near the intersection of County Roads #1 and #8 in Polk County.

According to Sheriff’s Deputies, 19 year old Christian Reed of Leonard and 56 year old Kelly Johnson of Winger, the drivers of two of the vehicles, were injured in the head-on collision reported at 6:30am.

Reed was airlifted from the scene by North Memorial Air Care and taken to Essentia Hospital in Fargo – Johnson was taken by First Care Ambulance to Essentia Health in Fosston.

According to officers, the accident happened in Sletten Township, as Reed was west bound attempting to pass a third vehicle in fog and collided head-on with the east bound Johnson vehicle.

Fire Departments from Winger and McIntosh assisted at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
