No injuries are reported, but a pickup was destroyed in a spectacular fire that could be seen for miles Tuesday night.

The call for assistance came in just after 8pm to the Jared Nelson home on 130th Avenue Northeast. Fire Fighters arrived to find a 2003 Ford Extended Cab Pickup fully engulfed in flame, thick black smoke pouring from the fire scene. They quickly had the situation under control, with no damage to an outbuilding just yards away.

The cause of the fire is unknown. Fire fighters say Nelson was inside the home when he heard the horn on the vehicle start to sound, the security system apparently set off by the flames. He had attempted to knock back the blaze with a hand held fire extinguisher.

The pickup is considered a total loss.
