Yes, there is a plan -
As we enter day 2 of the Pennington County Fair, Fair Board Members want the public to know there is a plan for Severe Weather, including evacuation of all Fair Ground Buildings and the Grand Stand to take shelter in the basement of the Ralph Engelstad Arena.
In recent years, the 5 day event has been punctuated by at least one evening of severe weather – although there was no rain in sight last night – a great evening for the kick off parade and fireworks.
The Just for Kix Dance Team took first place in Wednesday’s parade line up, with second place going to the Wild for Latch Key Float. Hugo’s Family Market was judged Most Original with the Thief River Falls Take Down Club winning the award for Prowler Pride, Most Patriotic to Curfman’s Critters and Best Vintage Vehicle or Farm Implement went to Donald Scott and his 1929 GP John Deere – pulling a trailer displaying two additional implements – a 1937 A John Deere and a 1926 D John Deere.
Entry Day today with the Midway open at noon, Bingo in the Curling Club Building at 4, the Talent Show in the Band Shell at 6 and the Street Wizards Car Club Ride through Town and Show on the Fairgrounds from 7 to 10pm.
