State Patrol Reports 2 Fatalities in Northern Minnesota 06 Feb 17

A deadly weekend on Minnesota Roads with the State Patrol reporting two fatalities in Northern Minnesota.

Names are being withheld in an accident yesterday near Deer Creek involving a 31 year old woman and her two year old passenger from Wadena and a 63 year old woman from Parkers Prairie, The accident reported Sunday on Highway #29. State Troopers say the two vehicles collided head-on as one was attempting to pass another vehicle, with more information expected late tonight.

The second accident involving an un-belted, unrestrained driver who lost control after skidding through a stop sign on an Itasca County Road. Lorin Losh, 22, of Remer died in the accident, reported last night just before 10pm near Deer River, officers say he was not wearing a seat belt.  Injured in the accident and also un-belted, a passenger, Savannah Hinsz, 19, of Remer. Escaping without injury, tiny Nina Losh, an infant passenger restrained in a car seat.

Officers say alcohol was *not* a factor in the accident ..
