“Everything You Want to Know about Indians but Were Afraid to Ask” 21 Feb 17

Recent news coverage of the Dakota Access Pipeline, along with the fight to maintain the Fighting Sioux logo and the success of Indian Casinos across the state, have all raised the profile of the American Indian Community in Minnesota, with a presentation Wednesday night at The Carnegie from a man who promises answers to cultural and other questions, no matter how direct.

Dr. Anton Treuer, Professor of Ojibwa at Bemidji State University, will be the featured speaker in a presentation sponsored by the Northwest Regional Library System.

Titled, “Everything You Want to Know about Indians but Were Afraid to Ask”, Dr. Treuer has become renown for the presentation that has been effective in breaking down and understanding the history and cultural barriers that have traditionally divided communities of European and American Indian heritage.

He promises no question is off the table.

Wednesday night, beginning at 6pm at The Carnegie, across from the Public Library on Library Corner, First and Main in Thief River Falls. The event is admission free and everyone is welcome.
