A Thief River Falls man was injured in a violent, one vehicle roll-over this morning on Highway #1, in Norden Township.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, 35 year old Jeremy Ryan Hanson, was injured when the Chevy Suburban he was driving drifted off the road into the ditch. Hanson was taken to Sanford Regional Medical Center in Thief River Falls with injuries officers at the scene described as non-life threatening.
Sgt. Jesse Grabow says the vehicle was west bound on Highway #1, west of Thief River Falls, when Hanson fell asleep at the wheel, the vehicle drifting at highway speed across the east bound lane and into the ditch, striking an approach before coming to rest on its side.
Thief River Falls Fire Fighters assisted officers at the scene, using the Jaws of Life to free Hanson, who was trapped inside the wreckage.
Sgt. Grabow says Hanson was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, reported just before 9 o’clock this morning.
