Mattracks Featured in Hollywood Blockbuster 11 Apr 17

It is expected to be the Blockbuster of the Season and a Northwestern Minnesota Company is finding themselves center stage in a feature film that is “all about the action.”

Mattracks, headquartered in Karlstad, is providing the “Wow! Factor” in the latest movie in the Fast and Furious franchise, “Fate of the Furious,” that opens world-wide this Friday.

Mattracks Vice-President Dan Laux, says the rubber track conversions, manufactured in Karlstad, are featured on a Dodge Ram pickup, driven by Actor Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson as Luke Hobbs, the self-titled Abominable “Ice Man” in his “Ice Ram,” “saving the world in the snow,” many of the scenes shot in Iceland ..

Laux says Mattracks manufactures over a hundred different track conversions systems; replacing traditional wheels on everything from ATV’s to Military Vehicles. Although the product has been featured in Hollywood Movies in the past, including Terminator 3 (2003) and Inception (2010) Laux says it is thrilling to have a product so prominently featured in a movie where the actors almost take a back seat to the vehicles.

To celebrate, Mattracks is hosting a special VIP premier showing of The Fate of the Furious, this Friday afternoon at Falls Cinema in Thief River Falls, and if you want a sneak peek – we did find the Mattrack Installed Pickup – the “Ice Ram” – featured on the Movie’s Official Trailer Number #2, which can be found on-line at fastandfurious.com.
