Community Leader Passes Away at 97 18 Apr 17

Funeral services will be held this week for Community Leader and longtime Thief River Falls Businessman, Victor Kalinoski, who died last week at Riverview Hospital, in Crookston.

“Vic” was a native of Greenbush, a US Army Veteran who began a life-long career with Ace Hardware the year after his high school graduation in 1939. He worked for stores in Northwest Minnesota, including two years as manager in Thief River Falls before moving on to Waukegan, Illinois, returning to Thief River Falls to purchase the local Ace Hardware Store in 1961, a business he sold to his son, Ron, in 1982.

Vic Kalinowski was a believer in church and community; donating his hours to Knights of Columbus, the Thief River Falls Chamber, Elks, Lions, the Legion and VFW and in his later years as a Golden Pioneer. He enjoyed travel and time spent over the winter months in Mission, Texas.

Memorial Services will be held tomorrow at St Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls.
