Deer Causes Single Vehicle Roll-Over 04 May 17

Two people were injured in an accident Wednesday night on Highway #2 in Polk County.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the driver of the vehicle, Gary Grafsgaard, 51, and a passenger John Grafsgaard, 61, both of Devils Lake, were injured after their PT Cruiser struck a deer near the intersection with Polk County Road #30 in Fairfax Township.

Both were taken to Riverview Hospital in Crookston with injuries officers at the scene described as non-life threatening.

State Troopers say the Cruiser was east bound when Grafsgaard swerved to miss the animal, losing control and causing the vehicle to roll.

Both driver and passenger were wearing seat-belts at the time of the accident, reported just before 11pm. Officers say alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
