Injuries Reported in Weekend ATV Accident 17 Jul 17

A Crookston area man was injured in an ATV Accident over the weekend in Polk County, with several agencies from Thief River Falls responding after the man was found, apparently by Road Construction Crews, in Pennington County.

Cody Hermreck, 26, was found on a remote section of County Road in Bray Township after walking more than 2 miles from the accident scene, in Polk County.

Pennington County Deputies say Hermreck suffered upper body injuries and lost his cell phone after the ATV he was operating rolled. Even injured, he managed to walk for help, finally found right on the County Line on 210th Avenue Northwest, south of the intersection with 170th Street, with the call for assistance into Pennington County Dispatch just after 5pm.

Thief River Falls Fire Fighters, who responded along with deputies and ambulance workers, were eventually called on to create a landing zone, after para-medics at the scene called up Life Flight for additional support.

No condition report was immediately available.

The 4 wheeler was located later, 2 and a half miles southwest of where Cody was rescued. Officers say the unit was found with a broken tie-rod, which may have been a factor in the roll-over, the accident remains under investigation.
