Evenson Welcomed to School Speech Programs 09 Aug 17

Thief River Falls Activity Director, Mike Biermaier this week announced the hiring of a new, Varsity Head Coach for Competitive Speech Programs at Lincoln High School and Franklin Middle School

If her dreams were her ticket out it is great to have her back again.

Lincoln High Speech Stand-Out and longtime Shakopee Speech Coach, Rachael Evenson, makes a return to her home town this season, with a new job at Franklin Middle School and a new assignment as Varsity Head Coach of the Thief River Falls Competitive Public Speaking Program.

Evenson is the daughter of Diane and Everett Marshall of Thief River Falls, Diane the former Novice Team Coach at Franklin Middle School. Since graduation, Evenson has spent more than a decade teaching, and coaching Class Double A Speech in the Shakopee School District.

Evenson replaces Head Coach and NCTC professor, Elise Row, who relocated with her family to Oklahoma City at the end of last season. Coach Evenson says the organizational season will begin at Lincoln High in October, the regular season in November.

Evenson will have back-up. Varsity Coach Pat Brickson will return to assist on the Lincoln High Team, with Franklin Teacher and Assistant Speech Coach Rebecca Schmidt joining Coach Key Teeters in the Novice Program at Franklin.
