No New Negotiations Between Administration and Employees at DAC 09 Aug 17

Updating a story we first reported late last week…

Employees continue to work without a contract this week, with no new negotiations scheduled between administration and employees at the Falls DAC in Thief River Falls.

Paul Slattery, with Teamsters Local 120, says employees are at full staff as normal operations continue for the nonprofit, on 13th Street West. Slattery says they hope to avoid a picket line, although a strike vote was authorized last month.

Union members say they will continue to work without Health Insurance Benefits but are asking a 1% Cost of Living Pay Increase.

The Falls Diverse Abilities Corporation provides jobs, job training and day activities for adults with developmental disabilities.

As far as safety questions raised over staffing issues last week, County Attorney Alan Rogalla says staff to client transportation and care ratios are a matter of state licensing and directs all concerns to the Minnesota Adult Abuse Reporting Center, toll free, 844-880-1574.
