Two Suspects Apprehended, Two Remain at Large 16 Aug 17

The Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office continues their search for a pair of suspects in connection with attempted theft.

Sheriff Mitch Bernstein reports shortly after 9pm Tuesday night, a resident in Emardville Township near rural Brooks said four individuals came into the yard in a pick-up and appeared to be acting suspicious.

While a deputy was investigating the incident, a resident in Poplar River Township, about four miles west of the first report, claimed he caught some people attempting to steal a pickup from his yard.  A female suspect was detained by the victim and law enforcement caught another female trying to flee the area.

Investigation revealed the suspects stole some items from inside the house and attempted to steal a pickup but were scared away when the occupants came home and blocked the driveway.  All the property was recovered.

Red Lake County law enforcement assisted by the Thief River Falls K-9 unit searched the area but two suspects remain at large.  The suspects are described as a male with dark complexion and a female with blonde hair, both about 40 years of age.  The two females that were arrested were transported to the jail in Crookston and have been booked on Felony Burglary charges, theft of a motor vehicle and driving while under the influence of a controlled substance.  Names of the suspects aren’t being released at this time.  They are being held pending their first court appearance.
