Enbridge Opts for “Digital Town Hall” Concerning Pipeline Replacement 28 Aug 17

Enbridge Energy is scheduled tonight to host a “Digital Town Hall” concerning the replacement of Lakehead Legacy Line #3 pipeline constructed across the listening area more than 40 years ago.

Just last week State Law Makers Deb Kiel of Crookston, and Dan Fabian of Roseau, urged Governor Mark Dayton to instruct the Minnesota Department of Commerce and the Public Utilities Commission to move forward with the on-going regulatory process, including an environmental impact statement.

In the listening area, new line would be laid adjacent to existing pipeline on existing right of way, but south of Clearbrook, the line would take a new direction, turning farther south into Hubbard County before heading West to Superior Wisconsin.

Enbridge says the project would invest nearly $3 billion in project related jobs and materials adding another 86 hundred jobs over the next 2 years and creating a safer line overall with modern infrastructure.

Tonight’s Digital Town Hall can be accessed by computer, tablet or cell phone and begins at 7pm; watch and listen to the webcast at enbridgeinmn.com, where you can also register to receive a call to join the town hall event or use 855-756-7520 ext. 36328 hashtag to call into the Town Hall Session.

Even as they continue to campaign for Legacy Line Replacement, Enbridge continues a lawsuit against the State Department of Revenue, that could cost local tax payers millions if the courts find the state over-collected property taxes over the past five years.
