(Detroit, MI)  –  Joe Mauer went 3-for-4 with two RBI to lead a 14-hit attack as the Twins trounced the Tigers 12-1 at Comerica Park.  Jorge Polanco also had three hits and Max Kepler, Byron Buxton and Jason Castro drove in two runs apiece as Minnesota snapped a three-game skid.  Dillon Gee got the win in relief for the Twins, who had lost five of their previous six games. 

(Detroit, MI)  –  The Twins and Tigers continue their four-game series tonight in Motown.  Kyle Gibson will get the ball for the Twins.  The Tigers will counter with left-hander Daniel Norris.

(Minneapolis, MN)  –  The Vikings return home to host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium.  Minnesota is 1-and-1 following Sunday’s loss to Pittsburgh.  The Bucs are 1-and-0 after their Week One matchup with Miami was postponed due to Hurricane Irma.  Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford has a shot at playing after sitting out last weekend with a sore knee.

(St. Paul, MN)  –  Jared Spurgeon scored the game’s only goal as the Wild nipped the Jets, 1-0, at the Xcel Energy Center.  Alex Stalock recorded 21 saves for Minnesota, which improved to 2-0-and-0 in exhibition play.  The Wild host the Avalanche tomorrow before rematching in Colorado on Sunday.

(Minneapolis, MN)  –  The Minnesota Lynx host the Los Angeles Sparks in Game One of the WNBA Finals on Sunday at Williams Arena.  The Lynx swept Washington to advance, while LA knocked out Phoenix in three games.  The Sparks beat the Lynx in five games last year to win the championship.

(Minneapolis, MN)  –  The Golden Gophers are off this weekend before opening up Big Ten play against Maryland next Saturday.  Minnesota is 3-and-0 on the season after last Saturday’s 34-3 rout of Middle Tennessee.
