One Dead in Early Morning Semi Collision 04 Oct 17

The Minnesota State Patrol this morning continues their investigation into an accident that took the life of an East Grand Forks man early yesterday.

Gregory Driscoll, 59, died at the scene of the crash east of Crookston, when his northbound Mercedes SLK/300 failed to yield at the Highway #75 intersection with US #2 – colliding with an east bound semi.

Sgt. Jesse Grabow, with the Minnesota State Patrol, says the accident was reported just before 5am, with Polk County and Crookston police responding along with Fire and Rescue Units.

Injured in the crash, Krishtopher Rittel, 53, of Grand Forks, taken to Riverview Hospital in Crookston with injuries described as non-life threatening.

Sgt. Grabow says both drivers were wearing seat-belts at the time of the accident, the airbag in the Mercedes fully deployed.

Grabow says alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
