(San Antonio, TX)  –  LaMarcus Aldridge shouldered the load without Kawhi Leonard or Tony Parker as the Spurs topped the Timberwolves 107-99 in San Antonio.  Andrew Wiggins led Minnesota with 26 points.  Jimmy Butler scored 12 in his Timberwolves’ debut.  Karl-Anthony Towns added 18 points and 13 boards in defeat.  The Wolves host Utah tomorrow in their home opener.

(Minneapolis, MN)  –  The Vikings are preparing for their showdown with the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday at US Bank Stadium.  The Vikes have won back-to-back division games over the Bears and Packers to move atop the NFC North at 4-and-2.  The Ravens sit at 3-and-3.

(St. Paul, MN)  –  The Wild will return to action tomorrow when they begin a two-game road trip in Winnipeg.  They will then visit Calgary Saturday before returning home.  The Wild sit at 1-1-and-2 after their 5-4 overtime loss to Columbus last Saturday.

(Minneapolis, MN)  –  Glen Perkins’ days in Minnesota are coming to a close.  The Twins informed the veteran left-hander they will decline their $6.5-million option on his contract for next season and pay him a $700,000 buyout.  The 34-year-old ranks third on the franchise’s all-time list with 120 saves.  Perkins has been limited to just 10 games total the last two years.
