District #564 Thanks TRF PD 14 Nov 17

A public Thank You to law enforcement from the Thief River Falls School District at last night’s regular school board meeting, following the disruption earlier this month from a threat of gun violence at Lincoln High School.

According to Education Correspondent, Lee Richards, Superintendent Bradley Bergstrom extended his thanks to local Law Enforcement for their support during the threat that had been made to Lincoln High School.  He said living in a small community indicates the great “togetherness” the citizens have.

Volunteer Director MaryFrann Twistol presented several ladies who make a significant impact on our elementary school children by giving their time to enhance their education as art educators.  Three ladies were on hand, a fourth was unable to make the recognition ceremony. The women have a combined 118 years of volunteer service to the district.

Erika Kahlhamer gave a presentation on a proposed biology trip to Belize in 2019.  The trip would cost about $2700 per student but the students would get a diverse biology exposure.

The Board approved an increase in hourly rates for Latchkey to cover costs and extended congratulations to the 2017 Scholastic Book Fair for their record sales of over $26,000.  100% of the profits will be gifted to CES.
