One Person Injured, Multiple Vehicles Involved in #32 Accident 15 Nov 17

One person was injured with several vehicles involved in an accident during the Wednesday morning commute on Highway #32, North of St. Hilaire.

According to Sgt. Jesse Grabow, 50 year old Michele Qually, of Mentor, was injured after she lost control of the pickup she was driving in icy conditions just north of St. Hilaire.

Qually was taken to Sanford Thief River Falls with injuries Sgt. Grabow described as non-life threatening.

The pickup was North bound, accelerating as it pulled away from the city limits, when Qually lost control on the slippery highway, sliding off the road and rolling the vehicle, which came to rest on it’s roof.

Grabow says the accident was the start of a series of mishaps as a second vehicle stopped to give assistance, parking on the shoulder of the highway: getting out on foot to help as a third vehicle on the highway slowed to allow them to cross. That vehicle was struck from behind by a fourth vehicle the impact sending the third vehicle crashing into the vehicle parked on the shoulder.

No injuries among the other three vehicles involved. Officers say Qually was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident; reported at 6:25am.
