Governor Mark Dayton Credits Early Diagnosis in Cancer Recovery 06 Dec 17

Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton says he is cancer-free.

Dayton made the announcement this week even as he urged screening, especially for Minnesotans with risk factors or a family history of the disease.

The Governor credited his own recovery to early diagnosis and successful treatment, which included surgery to remove his prostate.

It was last January that Dayton revealed he had prostate cancer. He said Monday early detection was “just crucial”, catching the disease before it could spread to other organs, proclaiming this “Cancer Screening Week” in Minnesota.
