Busy Weekend for TRF Fire Fighters 02 Jan 18

In addition to the Mutual Aid run with St. Hilaire over the long holiday weekend, Thief River Falls Fire Fighters also responded to two incidents related to the extreme cold and a smoke filled basement.

According to a Spokesman at the Fire Hall crews dealt with two water main breaks in sprinkler systems at Challenger Elementary School and at Oakland Park Nursing Home. Both appeared to be contained to small portions of the building – with no evacuation necessary.

Fire fighters also responded to the report of a basement filled with smoke, after a sump pump overheated.

Fire fighters quickly had the situation under the control, there was no fire and no damage was reported.
