Public Input on DNR “Touring Route” 07 Feb 18

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will host a series of listening sessions this month, looking for input into a multi-county “Touring Route” that includes Northwest Minnesota.

The route will connect the western and eastern borders of the state across the northern tier using minimum maintenance and rugged roadways.  The end product will be a mapped route for highway-licensed four wheel drive vehicles, following routes that are already open for driving.

The route will proceed across northern counties; in our area those counties would include Beltrami, Clearwater, Polk, Red Lake, Pennington, Marshall and Kittson.

Those listening sessions will be held at Clearbrook-Gonvick School Library on February 28, Newfolden City Office on March 5, Hallock City Hall on March 6, and Red Lake Falls at Lafayette High School on March 7.  All meetings will be held from 6pm-8pm.
