Increasing Speed Limit on Some NW Mn Roads 09 Feb 18

The speed limits on two sections of northwest Minnesota highway will soon increase from 55 to 60 per hour.

That includes Highway #172 from Baudette to Wheeler’s Point and Highway #310 from Roseau to the Canadian Border.

T. J. Melcher, with the Minnesota Department of Transportation, says there is a logic to safely increasing highway speed; when you consider the speed vehicles are already traveling – adjusting to keep everyone moving the same direction and at the same speed.

The new speed limits take effect when the new signs are posted.
