2018 Session of the State Legislature Set to Convene Next Week 16 Feb 18

With the 2018 Session of the Minnesota State Legislature set to convene next week, the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities is asking lawmakers to increase state funding to repair streets along with water and sewer systems, also additional aid to help hold down property taxes.

It may be a tough sell at the State Legislature, where Majority Leaders have said matching Minnesota’s tax structure to new federal tax cuts is going to be a key priority.

Republicans are talking about a bonding bill for public works projects that is only half the $1.5 billion that Governor Mark Dayton has proposed.

The 2018 Legislative Session convenes Tuesday at the Capitol in St. Paul.
