(St. Paul, MN)  –  Eric Staal had three goals and two assists as the Wild blasted the Blues 8-3 at Xcel Energy Center.  It was the 14th career hat trick for Staal.  Mikael Granlund tallied twice for Minnesota, which stretched its winning streak to five games.  Devin Dubnyk stopped 22 shots in net.  The Wild begin a two-game road trip tomorrow in Arizona.

(Portland, OR)  –  The Timberwolves resume their three-game west coast road trip tomorrow night in Portland against the Trail Blazers.  Minnesota opened the trek with a 118-100 rout of the Kings on Monday in Sacramento.  The Wolves have won three-of-four overall to improve to 38-and-26.  They are currently third in the Western Conference, a half-game ahead of the Spurs.

(Fort Myers, FL)  –  Nick Gordon tripled in a run and starter Jose Berrios pitched a strong inning but the Twins fell short in a 3-2 loss to the Red Sox in Fort Myers.  Anibal Sanchez tossed two perfect innings for Minnesota, while Byron Buxton went 2-for-3 at the plate.  The Twins host the Rays today.

(New York, NY)  –  Minnesota is headed to Big Apple for the Big Ten Tournament.  The 11th-seeded Golden Gophers will meet 14th-seeded Rutgers tonight at Madison Square Garden in New York.  The winner will advance to face sixth-seeded Indiana tomorrow.
