(Madison, WI)  –  Minnesota’s disappointing basketball season is over.  The Golden Gophers lost to Rutgers 65-54 in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament at Madison Square Garden.  Minnesota ends the year just 15-and-17 including just 4-and-14 in conference play.


(Undated)  –  North Dakota State is gearing up for the Summit League Tournament.  The fifth-seeded Bison will face fourth-seeded Fort Wayne on Sunday in Sioux Falls.  NDSU went 14-and-16 including 5-and-9 in Summit play.  Meanwhile, North Dakota visits Sacramento State tonight before wrapping up the regular-season on Saturday at Portland State.


(Portland, OR)  –  The Timberwolves resume their three-game west coast road trip tonight in Portland against the Trail Blazers.  Minnesota opened the trek with a 118-100 rout of the Kings on Monday in Sacramento.  The Wolves have won three-of-four overall to improve to 38-and-26.  They are currently third in the Western Conference, one game ahead of the Spurs.


(Glendale, AZ)  –  The Wild begin a brief two-game road trip out west tonight as they clash with the Arizona Coyotes in the desert.  Minnesota will then visit Colorado tomorrow before returning home.  The Wild have won five in-a-row to improve to 36-20-and-7.  They are currently third in the Central Division with 79 points, three ahead of Dallas.  The ‘Yotes are last in the NHL with just 46 points.


(Undated)  –  The Twins split their two games yesterday in spring training action.  Byron Buxton homered for the Twins’ lone run in a 3-1 loss to the Rays in Fort Myers.  The rest of the squad doubled up the Astros 4-2 in West Palm Beach.  The Twins face the Cardinals today in Jupiter.
